What We Know
Kanye West’s Yeezy Season 3 + WAVES unveiling is on February 11th at 4 PM live at Madison Square Garden and broadcasting in select theaters worldwide. The event comes on the first day of New York Fashion Week – drawing criticism from designers who held the same time slot for their events. West announced Yeezy Season 2 in a similar fashion, just over a week prior to the event.
What We Can Expect
Kanye has been the subject of scrutiny, praise, and speculation recently. One thing that is always promised when it comes to ‘Ye? Grandeur. The Yeezus Tour was a once in a lifetime experience every night, and everything ‘Ye puts his hands on turns into an extravagant event. SNL performances, fashion shows, interviews, and concerts – if you needed examples.
SWISH WAVES
Every era of ‘Ye’s stylish career is marked by the release of an album. Polos during the College Dropout and Late Registration eras, shutter shades during the Graduation era, suits and tuxes during the 808’s and Twisted Fantasy eras, and modern day ‘Ye emerged with Yeezus.
We can assume there is a fluidity between Yeezy Season 3 and WAVES, so the music he’s released so far may be foreshadowing the clothing line.
How 'Ye And Kim Were Dressing
Kanye and his favorite model (Kim, of course) frequently preview the upcoming season. Look at how Kim and ‘Ye dressed prior to Season 2’s release:
Their palettes consisted of mostly militant hues: featuring browns, tans, and darker greens.
How 'Ye And Are Kim Dressing Now
Prior to Season 3’s release Kim and Kanye have been spotted donning a darker array of colors – blacks and often only blacks. See them below:
Less Of This
So, if history repeats itself, it’s safe to assume that Season 3 will look less like this:
And More Of This
Season 3 is likely to include much, much more black. Meaning it will look more like:
