Anonymous Asked: Do you have any advice for people who can’t afford these high end brands? Some kind of motivation or tips.

Answer: First, what you need to understand is that these high-end brands, due to their price point, aren’t meant for the average individual like you and I. It’s meant for the rich and wealthy, people who have or make more money then they actually know what to do with. So any attempts to buy out the mall on a consistent basis just isn’t practical. I feel people often consume themselves with the thought that style and fashion is predicated on what designer brands you wear and own. But that’s far from the truth.

My advice would be to shop smart. It’s not about buying the hot stuff but the right stuff. Build a foundation/wardrobe around your personal style and acquire cool pieces over time that’ll complete your desired look regardless of price or designer name. For example, what I’ve learned to do to offset any of my financial disadvantages is to mix a little high high-end with a lot of low. Invest in pieces within your price range that you believe are classic and that you will get the most use out of. And then mix those classic pieces with what’s affordable to you. The best time to shop for many of these high-end brands is during their end of season blow-out sales. It’s just about being patient sometimes even if it’s not by choice.
