Jay-Z kicked off Day 1 of the Budweiser’s Made In America Festival in Philadelphia by giving a performance of some of his greatest hits. He was wearing a Brooklyn Nets snapback hat and a graphic tee from the Givenchy Spring/Summer 2013 collection with gold chains around his neck.

Watch, everyone is gonna bitch about Givenchy , gicenchy Kanye wore it hype hype blah blah blah, Well before the morons start talking, Kanye has worn less then 1% of the collection there are 120 LOOKS with 4-6 pieces in each look. He has worn max 20 Pieces of Givenchy in Public which is nothing.

He made a $1000+ dollar shirt look “street”(not upscale fashion) so I guess that’s good for him and for the people that like to imitate how he dresses.

Givenchy and by GIVENCHY I mean Ricardo Tisci did pretty good on the revival of the house, but the problem is that he used the same marketing technique as Christian Audigier (Von Dutch, Ed Hardy): give clothes to celebrities and watch your clothing line become the “it thing” and that’s good if you want to make a quick buck but I think that makes the clothes look cheap.

Overexposure leads to people hating the brand and for a fashion house with legacy that’s a bad thing.

  Well, it’s only overexposure to the more streetwear-esque collection. His women’s haute couture and ready to wear pieces do exceedingly well without much “it” exposure. Regardless, Tisci will remain a staple in the fashion industry for years to come.

  Thank you…I 10000% agree. These shirts are in rotation too much and will be played out. Everyone claims they are into fashion all of a sudden but no one has fashion sense. Fashion is a unique style from within, not from seeing kanye and dressing like him.

Jay z and fashion never mixed so any brand he wears comes off as street wear no matter how high fashion. You can take these people out the hood but you can’nt shake the hood look off of them.
