Kanye West Unites Music, Fashion and Art for Runaway Short Film
Kanye West embarks upon another first in his music career with the release of his much anticipated 35 minute short film titled “Runaway”, in which he also directed. The film’s plot surrounds the abrupt arrival of a Phoenix, which is played by Victoria’s Secret model Selita Ebanks, who crash lands on Earth, is then rescued by Kanye’s character Griffin, and tries to adapt to human society. Runaway uses great music, fashion, and cinematography to promote the message of accepting and embracing our differences without trying to change one another. You’ll notice Kanye incorporated style concepts from his Rosewood Movement, and can be seen throughout the film rocking a pair of Stubbs & Wootton Loafers ($395) as well as wearing what appears to be a customized blazer, which looks very similar to the Band of Outsiders jacket he wore last month. The movie also features songs from his upcoming album “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” such as Power, Runaway, All of the Lights, and Lost in the World.
